How it Works
Find out if you are eligible
Victims of hate or bias crimes in Oregon can fill out a short questionnaire to find out if they are eligible. People who do not meet the requirements will not be able to ask a question and will be directed to other information and resources.
Submit a question about your situation
Eligible individuals, as determined by the questionnaire, can ask a question about the situation that involved hate or bias.
Get brief legal advice from a free attorney
After a question is submitted and approved, pre-screened volunteer attorneys can select it and provide free brief written legal advice in response. More information about the process can be found in the FAQ.
Learn About Your Rights
People who meet the legal definition of a crime "victim" under their jurisdiction's laws are entitled to rights during criminal investigation and prosecution. These rights are "crime victims' rights". Learn more about these rights here!
